The Almanor Recreation and Park District is announcing a grand opening Aug. 19 to celebrate its newest recreation center: Almanor Park in Chester.
The event will take place at Almanor Park, 101 Meadowbrook Loop, next to the ball field (adjacent to Almanor Recreation Center). The celebration will include recognition of the many community members and businesses who have donated their time, equipment, and materials in making this park possible.
The festivities, which begin at 11 a.m., are open to all and will include refreshments, guest speakers, music, and a giveaway.
The Almanor Recreation and Park District is an unfunded special district that serves the Lake Almanor Basin with community programs and events.
