Sierra Christian Church in Beckwourth announces its next free Family Movie Night, set for Friday, Aug. 25, and featuring “The Secrets of Jonathan Sperry.” The film follows best buddies Dustin, Albert, and Mark, 12-year-old boys looking forward to a summer of fun in 1970. When Dustin mows the lawn of 75-year-old Jonathan Sperry, a man he has seen at church, a unique friendship develops. What happens the rest of this summer is something Dustin and his friends will never forget!
Organizers invite the community to come and enjoy this family-friendly movie. The show will begin around 6:30 p.m., but guests are welcome to come early to enjoy free finger foods, popcorn, and drinks. For more information, call 530-249-9136. The church is located at 81059 Hwy 70.
