A rally for reproductive rights drew 25 people to Dame Shirley Plaza in Quincy with signs and waves to honking cars and trucks.
Held in conjunction with rallies in Rocklin, Grass Valley, and South Lake Tahoe-Mammoth Lake, the Aug. 25 gathering was designed as a show of support for women’s reproductive choices. It was aimed specifically at California’s 3rd District Congressman Kevin Kiley, said Darrah Hopper, a spokeswoman for Indian Valley Indivisibles.
“We are trying to raise awareness of the voting record of our congressional representative and his negative support of women’s reproductive choice,” Hopper said.
No one from Kiley’s office was available for comment despite numerous attempts to reach someone by The Plumas Sun.
Participants in the rally included Sierra County Democrats, Plumas County Democrats, and the Indian Valley Indivisibles.
