White Sulphur Springs Ranch celebrates volunteers

The Mohawk Valley Stewardship Council, steward of White Sulphur Springs Ranch in Clio, held a volunteer appreciation day Aug. 27 as a day for the board of directors to recognize and reward the many dedicated people that work so hard to restore the historic property.

About 60 of the most active volunteers attended, with a wide range of ages represented. Local musician Danny Horton and his sidekick Eric made music the whole time and the new dance floor was in constant use, report organizers. For food and drink, frozen margaritas were a crowd favorite and chicken on a stick was the main course.

The MVSC depends on community support to complete the renovation of the entire complex at White Sulphur Springs Ranch. Two upcoming fundraisers are available for community participation: Gumba’s Restaurant in Blairsden is donating a percentage of its revenue during the course of business Sept. 20, and a rummage sale is set for Oct. 14. All of the items for sale have been donated by members, neighbors, and guests.

Information about the organization, its history, and its goals appears on the newly remodeled website: http://www.WhiteSulphurSpringsRanch.com. MVSC members are proud of how the historic ranch house has been restored and invite the public to see it. Docent tours are available by special request; those interested may call Judy at (530) 836-0254.
