Ever wonder how the election process actually works?
Plumas County elections officials are inviting interested members of the public to come and personally observe the process for the November 7, 2023 Uniform District Election.
“It’s a great opportunity to view and learn about the various processes that go into conducting an election,” said Marcy DeMartile, Plumas County Clerk Recorder/Registrar of Voters.
She and elections staff will be testing the logic and accuracy of the county’s election equipment on Sept. 26 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
On Nov. 6, they will process mail ballots votes from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. A canvass of votes cast in the Nov. 7 election will take place on Nov. 21 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
It is not necessary to make arrangements in advance, DeMartile said. On each of the dates listed, interested parties should check in with the Elections Office in Room 102 of the Plumas County Courthouse, 520 Main Street in Quincy.
