Plumas District Hospital offers low-cost health screening

Plumas District Hospital announces that its annual low-cost health screening is available again during the first two weeks of October. (The annual screening is also available during the first two weeks of May.)

Appointments for the screening are necessary. Appointment scheduling is open as of Sept. 25. To schedule, call (530) 283-2121 and press the * (star) key. Appointments are available Monday – Friday,
6:30 – 8 a.m., from Monday, Oct. 2, to Friday, Oct. 13. No walk-ins will be accepted for this event.

Lab draws for the screening will take place in the North Fork Clinic building.

The cost for this screening is $75, payable by cash or check on the day of the event. Insurance will not be billed. Testing includes the following:

  • complete blood count
  • comprehensive metabolic panel
  • thyroid stimulating hormone
  • lipid panel
  • hemoglobin A1C for diabetes screening (extra charge)
  • prostate cancer screening (extra charge)

Participants will receive results through their patient portal, accessible from https://www.pdh.org/patients/healthlife. Participants who do not have a PDH patient portal account will be issued an invitation on the day of their appointment.

Participants must not eat for 12 hours prior to the blood draw. However, they should continue normal intake of water and take any medication as usual.
