The Meadow Valley Fire Department’s annual pancake breakfast is set for Saturday, Oct. 14, 7 – 11 a.m. at the Meadow Valley School at 7512 Bucks Lake Road.
Tickets are available at the event and cost $9 for adults and $7 for those 10 years old and younger. Money raised at the breakfast is used to maintain and enhance the fire department’s ongoing firefighting ability, said Lt. Les Hall. Regarding current needs, he said that the department is investigating replacing two older response vehicles with one newer vehicle.
“The pancake breakfast is a longstanding tradition that brings people together on a cool autumn morning for good food and conversation,” said Hall.
In addition to providing fire protection services to Meadow Valley, the department also provides mutual aid coverage to Bucks Lake, Quincy, and other areas in Plumas County. All Meadow Valley residents are eligible to volunteer as volunteer firefighters or support personnel.
Those interested are welcome to inquire at the breakfast or anytime at the department at 6913 Bucks Lake Road, said Hall.
