As her senior project, Quincy Junior-Senior High School student Julia Osborne will be leading an educational fall foliage hike at the Cascade Trail off of Old Highway Road outside Quincy. The hike will start at 1 p.m. Oct. 21.
“The walk itself will be flat and easy,” said Osborne. “Come to learn the science behind Plumas County’s beautiful fall colors!” Osborne said she chose this project because fall colors are very prominent in Plumas County, and she intends to study biology in the future. “I will share the science behind the factors that influence fall colors, how climate change affects fall colors, and what happens to leaves after they fall,” she said.
The event is free, and all are welcome.
