On Oct. 11, personnel from the Plumas National Forest Mount Hough Ranger District prepared and served 95 meals for the community as part of the Quincy Community Supper. The menu included Asian chicken, rice, Asian coleslaw, and a variety of cookies for dessert.
The next supper will be held Oct. 25. This free meal program is open to all; suppers are served on the second and fourth Wednesday of each month at 6 p.m. at the Community United Methodist Church fellowship hall at 282 Jackson St. A different church, business, civic group, or office volunteers to prepare and serve each supper. Guests may choose to dine in person or select takeout.
