Railroad Days is back! Railroad Days Revival is set for Oct. 29, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Portola City Park. The event features food, local beer, harvest cocktails, music, craft vendors, and children’s activities. The Nevada Gunfighters Old West Theatrical Troupe will perform throughout the day. Organizers at the Lost Sierra Chamber of Commerce promise fun for the whole family.
Since 1982, Railroad Days has been an end-of-summer event celebrating Portola’s rich history as a railroad town. After the event was suspended in 2019, there were many requests from the community to revive the event. Lost Sierra Chamber representatives report that they are excited to start that process with Railroad Days Revival, a family-friendly harvest festival. They’ve pushed the date to October to beat the heat and hecticness of summer.

Kids’ activities include vendor trick-or-treating, a bounce house, face painting, a pick-a-prize game, pumpkin painting, and crafts. Costumes are encouraged.
Lost Sierra Disc Jockey will be playing music throughout the day, and Danny Horton will perform from 2 to 4 p.m. The first 350 adults (21+) to arrive may pick up a commemorative reusable cup with at the Lost Sierra Chamber bar booth.
The chamber is partnering on this event with the Western Pacific Railroad Museum in Portola, which is offering Pumpkin Patch Express train rides that day as well. Learn more at https://www.wplives.org/news_items/pumpkin_trains_2023.html.
