Last month, the League of Women Voters of Plumas County sponsored an “extremely informative, upbeat, and timely talk” by County Administration Officer Debra Lucero, said Linda Judge, league president. Lucero spoke at the Quincy library about the improving financial status of Plumas County.
Lucero discussed the challenges in updating the county budget following disruptions due to COVID-19 beginning in 2020, the Dixie Fire in 2021, a serious cyber-attack in November 2021, and the resignation of 19 department heads within a two-year period.
The recommended budget for fiscal years 2023 and 2024 was submitted to the Board of Supervisors by Lucero and Auditor-Controller Martee Graham at the end of September. The introductory letter and budget may be found at https://www.plumascounty.us/ArchiveCenter/ViewFile/Item/17877.
Lucero’s LWV presentation is available on the League of Women Voters of Plumas County Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/100063479531306/videos/252905274400742. It was also aired during the “Community Matters” show on KQNY 91.9. To access a replay of that show, email kqnymgr@hotmail.com.
