Plumas Arts invites the community to gather for Words & Music at Patti’s Thunder Café, 557 Lawrence St. in Quincy, this Thursday, Nov. 9. Music by featured artist Levi Mullen begins at 7 p.m. followed by open mic.
Mullen has been playing acoustic guitar music since he was 15 years old. “I make music to heal my soul and to express myself completely,” he said. “My music creates a flow of mindfulness. To be in the present and be conscious of now.”
Mullen is a multifaceted artist who also expresses himself through drawing. He said he will bring his “Guitar ii,” his guitar of imaginary illusions, with him to Words & Music. “You don’t want to miss seeing him perform,” said Jennifer Ready, Plumas Arts events and program coordinator.
Words & Music features acoustic performances of music and the spoken word on the second Thursdays of each month October through May. Doors open at 6:45 p.m. and the featured artist starts at 7 p.m. Open mic follows the featured artist until 9 p.m. Those who would like to participate in the open mic portion of the evening may sign up at the door before 7 p.m.
Admission is $3 (cash only); children 12 and under are free. Drinks and treats will be available for sale from the café during the evening. For more information, visit https://www.plumasarts.org/words–music.html or call (530) 283-3402.
