Eastern Plumas Health Care reports that Nifty Thrifty, the hospital’s “powerhouse auxiliary,” needs folks to join its team of “fun, friendly volunteers.”
The auxiliary helps raise money for equipment, staff scholarships, and other needed services at EPHC. In the last year alone, the thrift store has contributed $126,000 to EPHC’s upgrade to 3D mammography, $100,000 toward the cost of a replacement lab analyzer, and $10,000 in professional scholarships for EPHC employees.
Those interested in being part of the Nifty Thrifty team who are available for an entire shift at least once per week (10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday) are invited to visit the store at 116 Commercial St. in Portola to fill out an application.
More information is available from store manager Matt Hamilton at (530) 258-6200.
