Participants can learn how to preserve the harvest during two upcoming workshops offered by Plumas County’s CalFresh Healthy Living in partnership with Lost Sierra Food Project. Leslie Connor of Forest & Farm will guide participants through the process of pickling red onions, go over different methods of
preservation, review preservation equipment, and discuss sanitation and hygiene.
Classes will be held at Portola’s Memorial Hall on Wednesday, Nov. 15, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. and Greenville Elementary on Saturday, Nov. 18, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.
Classes are open to ages 10+. Space is limited; to attend, participants must sign up by sending an email to calfreshevents@countyofplumas.com.
