The Graeagle Men’s Golf Association reports that its 2023 golf season has come to an end. The last playday was Friday, Nov. 10. On Wednesday, Nov. 8, only six players competed in bitterly cold conditions. The game of the day was individual low net. The winner was Dan Friedman with a net score of 72, and second place was won by Jim Oster with a net score of 70. No “skins” were awarded. A special thank-you was extended to Ron Eaton and John Grasso, who have managed the Wednesday playday for several years. Eaton and Grasso will be retiring after this season. Bryan Hansen will become the new Wednesday playday manager.
On Friday nine players competed in teams of three, in much better weather conditions. The format was one best ball on the front nine and two best balls on the back nine. Par in this format is 108. The winning team was composed of Dennis Flynn, Dan Friedman, and Chuck Hein with a net score of 97. A special thank-you was extended to Dennis Flynn for stepping up to fill in for George Fraser, who was unable to be available to manage the Friday Bandits for much of this season.
The GMGA board of directors and the Member Guest Invitational Committee are already in the planning process for the 2024 golf season and the Invitational. Regular information releases will begin again in the spring.
