Supervisors honor Board Clerk Allen Hiskey

The Plumas County Board of Supervisors joined its counterparts around the state in recognizing the Board clerk for the many services he provides that are essential to the lives of Californians.

Plumas County Board Clerk Allen Hiskey was honored Nov. 21 in a unanimous proclamation declaring Nov. 27 through Dec. 1 as California Clerk of the Board of Supervisors Week.

Hiskey, who began his service as Board clerk earlier this month, plays an integral role in the function of California county government, the supervisors said.

The work of board of supervisors’ clerks is among the earliest recorded on behalf of the public, according to the proclamation. Clerks like Hiskey across California have long pledged to maintain the neutrality and impartiality of the proceedings of government.

Hiskey prepares, schedules and manages the agenda for the Plumas County Board of Supervisors. His other duties include managing records, including resolutions, ordinances, and minutes.

The Plumas Board’s proclamation is part of the California Clerk of the Board of Supervisors Association’s efforts to promote the principles of good government and represent the interests of the Clerks of the Board with legislative bodies and other professional organizations.
