The Plumas Health Care Foundation hosted the Quincy Community Supper on Nov. 22 and served 129 Thanksgiving meals. A total of 25 volunteers from both the foundation and Plumas District Hospital were on hand to help prepare food, serve, and clean up. Members of the Quincy Junior-Senior High School S Club helped with serving desserts.

The free supper is held on second and fourth Wednesdays starting at 6 p.m. at the Community United Methodist Church at 282 Jackson St. A different local group volunteers to prepare and serve each supper. Quincy Community Supper began in 2002.
The next suppers are set for Dec. 13 and 27. Questions regarding the supper, donations, or signing up a group to volunteer may be directed to Angela Elliott at (530) 283-1478.
