The Plumas Association of Realtors reports that it held its annual installation and awards dinner Nov. 4 at Grizzly Grill in Blairsden. Laurie Humphries, an agent with Mountain Living Real Estate in Blairsden, was honored as 2023 Realtor of the Year and Diana Provost, of American Home Shield, was presented the association’s Affiliate Member of the Year award.
Humphries is a past PAR president who has been working as an agent in Plumas County since 2015, following her move from Oakhurst where she started her real estate career. She continues to serve as chairperson of PAR’s scholarship committee, which annually distributes six scholarships to high school seniors throughout Plumas and Sierra counties who are bound for college or vocational school. She also has led the process of providing association grants to first-time homeowners who are first responders. Humphries also helps put on an invitational golf tournament each year as a member of the Plumas Pines Women’s Golf Club.
Provost is the marketing manager for American Home Shield, which provides home warranty and natural hazards disclosure products to both agents and homeowners. A resident of Reno, Provost recently returned to her position following a brief “retirement.” Her return was a relief to her clients, who say they depend on her kindness and willingness to step in and directly solve problems.
The association also gave a special award to broker Jeannette Sasser of Mohawk Valley Associates, recognizing her longstanding service as chairperson of the nominating committee. Each year, the committee recruits new leadership on the board of directors, ensuring that it represents the interests of real estate professionals from throughout the two-county area.
