Plumas Eureka Fire Department Chief Steve Munsen was presented a $20,000 check by Plumas Eureka Community Auxiliary Co-Presidents Cheryl Shewmake and Linda Reason at the annual Firemen’s Appreciation Dinner on Nov. 9.
The auxiliary reported that these funds are made possible by the joint efforts of the firefighters, EMTs, and auxiliary members, as well as the generosity of the Plumas Eureka Estates community. An annual pancake breakfast is held Memorial Day weekend, and a hot dog barbecue is held Labor Day weekend to raise funds for the fire department.
Munsen said he plans to use the donation for an emergency and support vehicle. The auxiliary offers many thanks to all those who participated in making this donation possible.
