Community Christmas lights contest returns to Quincy

The Central Plumas Recreation and Park District is holding its second annual community Christmas lights contest, called ‘Twas the Lights Before Christmas. CPRPD invites all businesses and residents to participate.

Prizes will be awarded in four categories, as follows:

  • Griswold: More lights! More lights!
  • The Reason for the Season: religious displays.
  • Themed: featuring elves, inflatables, Santa, candy canes, etc.
  • Business: decorated place of business.

The winner in each category will each be awarded a $100 gift card. Quincy residents are encouraged to brighten the village and share in the holiday spirit. Registration costs $10 and closes Dec. 20 at 4 p.m. CPRPD staff will be judging lights after 6 p.m. on Dec. 20 and winners will be announced on the CPRPD Facebook page on Dec. 21. “Good luck to all of our contestants and have a merry Christmas!” say organizers.
