The band nightbrain reports that the second annual Holiday Cheermeister event is set to return Dec. 16 in Quincy. The Cheermeister is a benefit concert; this year proceeds will support Plumas Arts’s after-school art programs. The event will be held at the West End Theatre. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the show starts at 7.
The event features two bands: nightbrain out of Quincy and Ranger out of Reno. Through nightbrain flows a blend of moody groove, clubby funk, and soulful chill-hop, report organizers. The band members hail from the northern Sierra Nevada and have been blending styles and collaborating since 2020.
Formed in a small cabin in the woods, nightbrain evolved from a passing passion to a passionate pursuit. Members say they dream to weave styles and ideas in new and exciting ways through music, and hope to share with all who will enjoy.
Nightbrain members are as follows:
- Keyboards: Alex Lemnah.
- Drums: Emmanuel Lemnah.
- Vocals: Suzanne de Martimprey.
- Rythym and trombone: Chase Ramirez.
- Guitar: Nathan Retallack.
- Bass: Chris Retallack.
The band Ranger brings rock, say organizers: “It’s glad rock, it’s sad rock, it’s dad rock.” Ranger members are as follows:
- Guitar and vocals: Aris Andrews.
- Guitar and vocals: Cody Rea.
- Bass and vocals: Greggy Rea.
- Keys: Caleb Collins.
- Drums: Noah Lowdermilk.
Tickets for the show cost $20 and can be purchased online at https://www.plumasarts.org/cheermeister.html or at the Plumas Arts Gallery at 525 Main St. in Quincy.
