Quincy Fire Department serves Community Supper

Next supper set for Dec. 27

On Dec. 13, the Quincy Fire Department served over 100 delicious meals to appreciative dinner guests at the Quincy Community Supper, report organizers. Dale Ready led the group in preparing the meal of roast beef, mashed potatoes, gravy, roasted carrots, salad, rolls, and a variety of cakes. Everything was prepared from scratch.

The free supper is held on second and fourth Wednesdays starting at 6 p.m. at the Community United Methodist Church at 282 Jackson St. A different local group volunteers to prepare and serve each supper. Everyone in the community is welcome. Quincy Community Supper began in 2002.

The next supper is set for Dec. 27. Questions regarding the supper, donations, or signing up a group to volunteer may be directed to Angela Elliott at (530) 283-1478.
