The Quincy Chamber of Commerce presents the 11th annual Groundhog Fever Festival, set to take place Saturday, Feb. 3, at the Plumas County Courthouse. The Quincy Chamber reports that it is actively seeking participants for the festival’s chili cook-off. Only the first 10 entries will secure a spot, so those interested in showcasing their culinary skills are encouraged to act quickly.
Chili cook-off applications are due by Friday, Jan. 26. Cash prizes await all contestants: winners of the Judges’ Choice and People’s Choice awards will each receive $250 and a trophy, while the best decorated booth will be rewarded with $200 and a trophy. Other contestants will receive $100 each. Entry forms are available online at https://www.quincychamber.com/groundhog-fever-festival.
In addition, the Groundhog Fever Festival offers the opportunity for vendors to market their homemade goodies. Vendor spaces, which are 10 feet by 10 feet, are available for $25. Booth applications, also available online, are due by Friday, Jan. 19. Food vendors must have the appropriate permits from the Plumas County Environmental Health Department.
Chili cook-off entry forms and vendor booth applications can be returned by mail to the Quincy Chamber of Commerce, PO Box 215, Quincy, CA 95971, or dropped off in person at The Toy Store in Quincy.
