Quincy Rotary reports that its 50/50 drawing drew over 70 hopeful ticket holders the evening of Monday, Feb. 26. The crowd enjoyed an array of appetizers from Back Door Catering as they awaited the announcement of the seven winners.
Rotarian Andy Ryback drew the tickets from first to last with the help of several guests including Quincy Rotary Youth Leadership Awards student Macy Peay.
David Windle took home the top award for Cal-Sierra Title, Chester. Frank Carey won the second prize, followed by Karen Stockton, Lindsay Davis, Brenda Rocucci, The Leonhardt Family Scholarship Fund and Red Powell.

The annual 50/50 drawing is a major fundraiser for Quincy Rotary. The event helps cover the costs of the community services that the club sponsors. For instance, Quincy Rotary builds pavilions in parks and
benches on mountain trails, and paints stalls at the 4-H barns at the fairgrounds. The club sponsors water wells in Africa and mobile health clinics in Ukraine.
A major focus of the club is on local youth services like speech and music contests, leadership camps, international exchanges and dictionary giveaways. Each elementary school has a Quincy Rotary closet on site providing jackets, boots, gloves and clothing to students.
The motto of Quincy Rotary, and Rotary International, is “Service Above Self.” For more information about Quincy Rotary, contact President Lisa Kelly at [email protected].
