The Plumas County Election Office has released the unofficial results from the March 5 presidential primary election.
In the race for District 4 supervisor, Mimi Hall is predicted to win with 608 votes, a 20% margin over incumbent Greg Hagwood, who received 391 votes.

“I’m humbled by the support at the polls and beyond,” Hall told The Plumas Sun. “This race was won by the voices, efforts and belief of so many community members. Although I’ll be one of five members of the board of supervisors, it will not just be me … but the entire community, through its continued support, engagement and partnership, to improve Plumas County through my representation.”
In the race for Superior Court judge, Department 1, William Abramson garnered 2,336 votes to 2,300 for W. Wayne Yates Jr. The 36-vote difference leaves the race far too close to call.

Sales Tax Measure A, designed to fund local law enforcement, failed to get the two-thirds voter approval needed for passage. It tallied 3,160 yes votes to 2,853 no votes. That could change with more ballots to process.
Plumas County Clerk/Recorder Marcy DeMartile told The Plumas Sun the ongoing ballot processing leaves several races too close to call. “We still have a voluminous number of ballots to process,” she said. “We received 480 ballots yesterday. We still have the postmarked ballots to come in to be processed, and there are seven days to receive them.”
Election workers check signatures and verify addresses on every ballot. DeMartile estimated a possible 1,000 more ballots to process before she is able to post the final results.
In uncontested Plumas County supervisorial races, District 1 Supervisor Dwight Ceresola received 599 votes and District 2 Supervisor Kevin Goss received 728 votes.
The next release of election results will be in the late afternoon of Thursday, March 14, DeMartile said. For more information go to https://www.plumascounty.us/142/Elections-Division-Home.
