Seneca offers thanks for Valentine’s cards

Seneca Healthcare District in Chester put out a request to the community for Valentine’s Day cards for skilled nursing residents and staff reported that they received a generous response: “We received an amazing number of cards this year and cannot thank everyone enough.”

The residents received valentines from many community members including Marian Thompson, Judy Hardig, the Westwood library, several Chester Elementary School classes, Lake Almanor Christian School, Seneca administration staff and many other sources that were not identified. They also received cards from people in Orland, Chico and San Jose.

Seneca Healthcare District thanks the community for helping brighten residents’ Valentine’s Day.

Holiday Market in Chester donated paper bags for the residents and Sierra Hospice brought carnations for each resident.

“The generosity of our community members and the communities surrounding us was amazing,” said Chelssa Outland, Seneca marketing and public relations officer. “Every person and class that made cards helped to make our residents feel loved. We appreciate all of you!”

Seneca Long-Term Care Director Tessa Parsons said, “There was an overwhelming amount of support from the community and it made Valentine’s Day very special for the residents.”
