The race for Plumas County Superior Court judge remained a nail-biter March 15 as the Plumas County Elections Office continued to count votes in the 2024 presidential primary election.
William Abramson widened his slight lead over W. Wayne Yates Jr. to 56 votes — still far too close to call. In an update released midday, unofficial results showed Abramson with 44.3% of the votes cast so far. He won 2,976 votes to the 2,920 votes cast for Yates.
Challenger Mimi Hall retained her lead over District 4 Supervisor Greg Hagwood. She garnered 804 votes, while Hagwood won 492.
In the race to fund public safety, yes votes for Plumas County Measure A led no votes 3,821-2,605. Approval requires a two-thirds majority vote, which it has not yet reached. It would authorize Plumas County to levy a three-quarter-cent transaction and use tax.
In the unofficial vote count reported March 15, results in the uncontested Plumas County supervisorial races remained the same. District 1 Supervisor Dwight Ceresola received 774 votes and District 2 Supervisor Kevin Goss received 912. Voters returned both supervisors to office for four-year terms.
The elections office still has hundreds of votes to count, said Elections Officer Marcy DeMartile.
“We’re still processing and counting. We appreciate everyone’s patience as we continue to complete this election,” she said.
The next update on results of the 2024 presidential primary election is expected next week. Complete unofficial election results for Plumas County are available here.
