The Race, the Christian fellowship at Feather River College mentored by Dr. Ross Morgan, served 139 lasagna meals at the Quincy Community Supper on March 13, report organizers. Prior to the beginning of the supper at the Methodist Church fellowship hall, a group of young people representing four local churches sang for the supper guests.
In addition to the lasagna, Caesar salad and garlic bread rounded out the menu. Piano music by Kenny Davis added to the festive atmosphere.
The Community Supper offers a meal with no charge the second and fourth Wednesday of each month at 6 p.m. at the Community United Methodist Church at 282 Jackson St. Serving the community since 2002, the Quincy Community Supper is hosted by a rotating list of businesses, churches, service organizations, schools and offices. The next supper will be held Wednesday, March 27, at 6 p.m.
