Contra dance raises money for local farm internship

Lost Sierra Food Project invites the community to gather for a contra dance fundraiser hosted by Leslie Mink at the Quincy Veterans’ Hall on Saturday, March 30. The hall is located at 274 Lawrence St. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and music begins at 7. A $15 per person donation is suggested, and the event is open to everyone ages 10 and up.

Mink will call dances to live music from local musical group JJ&K. No experience, partner or special equipment is necessary. Wear comfortable clothes and closed-toe shoes. Water will be available; participants are encouraged to bring their own reusable bottles.

All money raised will go directly toward an internship position at Rugged Roots Farm for local high school students as part of Lost Sierra Food Project’s youth workforce development program. For more information about Lost Sierra Food Project, visit https://www.lostsierrafoodproject.org/.
