Quincy food co-op adds salad bar, hot food bar

Installation of bars, new seating area set for end of April

The Feather River Food Co-op announced it will soon begin offering new food options to Quincy. Last month, Chico Natural Foods Co-op donated a salad bar and hot food bar to the local co-op. FRFC plans to open the food bars toward the end of April, in order to provide easy and nutritious takeout food for co-op customers.

Co-op outreach coordinator Ross MacNeil said, “One of the seven co-op principles is ‘cooperation among cooperatives,’ which we have certainly demonstrated here. Without the help of CNFC, it would not have been so easy to offer this exciting new option to Quincy. This shows how cooperation between organizations, people and communities can have far-reaching positive impacts.”

MacNeil said food at the bars will be made in-house with locally sourced and organic ingredients when possible. The co-op will also be designing a new seating area for customers. “We are aware that Quincy would benefit from more dining options, so we feel very fortunate to be able to offer that to our customers,” MacNeil said.

The bars and a new seating area will be open at the end of April along with a display of local artwork available for purchase.
