Graeagle Meadows Golf Course opened for the 2024 golf season April 18, and the Graeagle Men’s Golf Association reported that its weekly Play Days started Wednesday, April 19.
Under clear skies, warm weather (70 degrees) and little wind, 21 players competed. The format for the day was two-man teams where one best net ball per hole on the first nine holes and both net balls on the second nine holes counted toward the team’s total score. Par for this format is 108. Play was limited to two rounds on the back nine holes as construction was occurring on the front nine holes.
The winning teams were as follows:
- First place: Don Judson and Tony Pehle with a net score of 104.
- Second place: tie between the team of Andy Knudsen and Bert Bellows, and the team of Jim Reynolds and Dennis Flynn, both with net scores of 106.
There were six “skins” awarded, one each to Kevin Comphel, Chuck Franck, Mike Simpson, Tony Pehle and Bert Bellows.
