The War Related Illness & Injury Study Center and the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs Health Outcomes Military Exposures unit have announced a Gulf War exposures and health concerns class for veterans. Veterans with questions or concerns about Gulf War exposures are encouraged to attend the free virtual class May 16 to get the information and answers they need.
The class will be offered virtually through the WebEx meeting platform via a personal computer, smartphone or tablet from 10:30 a.m. to noon. Topics covered will include the following:
- Potential exposures.
- Research findings.
- Health effects.
- Available resources.
- Steps to manage symptoms.
Registration is available online. Veterans must register for the class through the link. Logging into the class will begin 15 minutes before the start time. Anyone having difficulty registering is invited to email [email protected] with subject header “Gulf War Class.”
The class will include information about combat deployment that may be disturbing to some veterans. Veterans aware that they may be negatively affected by this content are asked to discuss these concerns with their medical and/or mental health care provider.
