The nonprofit Sierra Buttes Trail Stewardship announces that Trail Daze volunteer days are back each Monday on Mount Hough this June and July. Participants can sign up to join organizers in Quincy for a day of maintenance work — SBTS will provide all the tools and post-dig refreshments. Organizers say participation doesn’t require any experience, just a penchant for putting some sweat equity into the Lost Sierra trails.
Trail Daze begins June 3. Participants meet at 9 a.m. at Yuba Expeditions, 550 Crescent St. in Quincy. General maintenance work will be conducted until 3 p.m. on the Mount Hough trail system, with the exact location determined by needs.
Volunteers are asked to bring the following:
- Water.
- Sunscreen.
- Pack.
- Cold weather/rain gear (just in case).
- Closed-toe shoes.
- Work gloves.
- Eye protection (sunglasses).
All are welcome. Signups are available online. For more information about Sierra Buttes Trail Stewardship, visit https://sierratrails.org/.
