53rd annual art show brings artists, makers to Chester

Plumas Arts' Almanor Art Show set for June 22 and 23

Plumas Arts announces that the 53rd annual Almanor Art Show is coming to Chester on June 22 and 23. Taking place on the Collins Pine lawn, this year’s show will be open to the public from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, June 22, and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, June 23.

For over 50 years, the Almanor Art Show has welcomed artists and makers from California and beyond to showcase and sell their wares. This year’s show will feature a range of items including original paintings, fine jewelry, ceramic art, woodwork, furniture, fiber art, hand-sewn pieces, photography, sculpture work, fine food items and glass art. A full list of this year’s vendors can be located on the Plumas Arts website

This year’s show will also include a variety of food vendors. Local food trucks Kona Ice, Souls BBQ, and Region Burger will be dishing up cool treats and hot food to satiate hungry attendees.

Saturday’s show will be accompanied by the folksy sound of Hank Alrich, a local musician with decades of experience and an Almanor Art Show favorite. Sunday will bring the soulful and bluesy style of another local singer and songwriter, Suzanne de Martimprey.

Since 1983, Plumas Arts has coordinated the Almanor Art Show. Along with providing the community with a festive weekend, the show generates proceeds to support local art education programs throughout Plumas County.

Plumas Arts offers diverse programs that serve the area with arts education as well as a gallery of resident artists’ work. It also produces and coproduces many performances and cultural events across the county, and provides information and support to local artists and events throughout Plumas County.
