Assemblywoman Megan Dahle reports that the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development recently updated its income limits, impacting eligibility criteria for California Department of Housing and Community Development ReCoverCA housing programs. Key details include the following:
- Revised income limits: The ReCoverCA housing programs benefit low- to moderate-income households with an annual gross income not exceeding 80% of the area median income for the county. These income limits are based on the HUD guidelines, which are revised annually.
- HUD income limits for fiscal year 2024: HUD has released the fiscal year 2024 income limits, effective from April 1.
- Update application income: Those whose applications were previously determined to be above the low- to moderate-income threshold are encouraged to review their application in light of the new income limits. Additionally, those who have experienced a reduction in income can update the income amount in their application. They can log into the application, re-select their income category and resubmit the application.
Final determination of income and eligibility will be made by the program based on its policies and procedures. Those who require assistance or have any questions can reach out to their case manager, send an email to [email protected] or call 916-202-1764.
