June 5: Wednesday Play Day
Wednesday, June 5, was a warm day which saw 19 Graeagle Men’s Golf Association players competing in a two-man team game of Par Points, plus skins. In this format, net double bogies are minus two points, net bogies are zero points, net pars are plus one point, net birdies are plus three points, and net eagles are plus five points.
First place was won by the team of Dan Anderson and Tony Gonzales with 53 par points. In second place was the team of Don Judson and Norm Nichols with 43 par points. Third place was a tie between the teams of Anthony Miranda/Mike Quesenberry and Dennis Flynn/Roger Ashby with 41 par points.
Skins: Two skins were won by the following players: Bob Laxaque with a net 2 on the fourth hole and Grant Mayfield with a net 4 on the 18th hole.
June 8: Friday Play Day
On Friday, June 8, the weather was again clear and hot, with occasional gusts of wind. Twenty-five Graeagle Men’s Golf Association players competed as two-man teams in a game of Pick ‘Um 9, plus skins. In this format, after each hole, the team chooses which player’s net score to count toward the team score. Each player’s net score must count nine times during the round.
First place was won by Mark Yuill and Nate Coats with a net score of 62. Second place was a tie between the teams of Norm Miller/Jeff McKenzie and Bob Laxaque/Jay Hendrick, both with net scores of 63.
There was one skin awarded: Jeff McKenzie had a net 2 on the 15th hole with a putt that was at least 60 feet.
