Grave Occasion raises money for museum

The Plumas County Museum announces that its annual fundraising event Grave Occasion is being held at the Old Quincy Cemetery on Saturday, Sept. 21. In this event, local actors research historical figures buried in the cemetery. At their gravesites, the actors provide glimpses of some of the challenges of living in the earlier years of Plumas County.

Brian Blocki and Danielle Wagner Plocki share what life was like in Plumas County’s past.

After the presentations at the cemetery, ticket holders will move on to Morrison’s Barn for an evening of dining, socialization, a short program and a silent auction.

Tickets for Grave Occasion can be purchased at the Plumas County Museum or from members of the museum’s board of trustees. Nonmember tickets cost $65 per person, and member tickets are $55.

Those interested in becoming a member of the Plumas County Museum can call 583-283-6320 for an application. Membership supports the museum.
