June 19: Wednesday Play Day
Graeagle Men’s Golf Association organizers said Wednesday, June 19, was a perfect day for playing golf, and 22 players competed in a two-man-team game in which each player decides, before teeing off on the first hole, whether his score will count on the even-numbered holes or on the odd-numbered holes, plus skins.
In first place was the team of Don Judson and Norm Nichols with a net score of 66. In second place was the team of Nate Coats and Mark Yuill with a net score of 68. In third place was the team of Bert Bellows and Lance Raglen with a net score of 72.
Seven skins were won by the following players: Mike Quesenberry with a net 2 on the first hole, Ken Hattich with a net 2 on the second hole, Don Judson with a net 1 on the third hole, Dan Friedman with a net 3 on the seventh hole, Lance Raglan with a net 2 on the 11th hole, Norm Nichols with a net 2 on the 14th hole and Dennis Carr with a net 2 on the 15th hole.
June 20: Ace of Aces qualifier, Pick 9
On Thursday, June 20, members of the Graeagle Meadows Women’s Golf Club played their monthly Ace of Aces qualifier, in which the low gross and low net scorers (who have not previously qualified) qualify to play in the season-ending Ace of Aces Playoff. The club offers congratulations to winners Debbie Fuetsch, who won low gross with an 86, and Beth Yuill, low net winner with a net 67.
The players also competed in a game of Pick 9, in which each player’s game score consists of her two best par 3s, five best par 4s and two best par 5s. The winners were as follows:

- Flight 1 first place: Debbie Fuetsch (37).
- Flight 1 second place: Kris Sutton (41).
- Flight 1 third place: Cindy Hannah (42).
- Flight 2 first place: Nancy Linch (45).
- Flight 2 second place: Lois Childress (46).
- Flight 2 third place: Cheryl Brennan (48).
Low net
- Flight 1 first place: Alaine Flynn (29).
- Flight 1 second place: tie between Susan Anderson and Donna Ward (31).
- Flight 2 first place: Beth Yuill (28).
- Flight 2 second place: tie among Cathy Macdonald, Shelly Drake and Mikie Burdick (32).
Organizers report there were chip-ins galore: one each for Mikie Burdick, Alaine Flynn, Cindy Hannah, Kris Sutton and Beth Yuill.
June 21: Friday Play Day
On Friday, June 21, the weather was clear, warm and humid. Twenty-three Graeagle Men’s Golf Association players competed as two-man teams in a game of In the Box, plus skins. In this format each player is assigned a par 5 (i.e., In the Box) in which their score on that hole counts, added to the better net ball on the par 4s, and both balls on the par 3s.
First place was won by Jeff McKenzie and Bert Bellows with a net score of 79. Second place was a tie between the teams of Jack Gilbert/Mike Simpson and Bil Harrison/Jeff McKenzie (blind draw), both teams with net scores of 80.
There were six skins awarded, as follows: Lawrence Randle with a net 2 on the fourth hole and a net 1 on the 12th hole, Mike Irving with a net 2 on the 13th hole and a net 3 on the 17th hole, Bill Harrison with a net 2 on the 15th hole and Nate Coats with a net 2 on the first hole.
