Under sunny skies, organizers report that 48 Graeagle Meadows players teed it up in the annual Mini Ha Ha Couples’ Tournament, which is hosted by the Graeagle Meadows Women’s Golf Club. This tournament is a modified Chapman Scotch game in which both team members tee off, then each hits their partner’s drive, after which the team chooses the best ball and hits alternate shots until the ball is holed.
Play was followed by “firewater, feast and awards” at the Graeagle picnic grounds, with beef tri-tip cooked by the Graeagle Men’s Golf Club’s barbecue team and sides provided by The Restaurant at Graeagle Meadows.
The winners were as follows:
Flight 1
- First place: Nancy Linch and Lance Raglen, in a card-off, net 64.
- Second place: Cynthia Baldwin and Bill Harrison (64).
- Third place: Chris Sutton and Dan Friedman (65).
Flight 2
- First place: Beth and Mark Yuill (63).
- Second place: Chris and Bob Laxague (64).
- Third place: Shelley Drake and Nate Coats (65).
