June 26: Wednesday Play Day
On Wednesday, June 26, 28 Graeagle Men’s Golf Association players competed in a four-man team game in which the three best net scores count on the first hole, the best two net balls count on the second hole, and the best one net ball counts on the third hole. On the fourth and subsequent holes, the sequence is repeated. The game is commonly called 3-2-1. Skins were tallied as well.
In first place was the team of Don Judson, Dan Anderson, Dan Friedman and Paul Senft with a net score of 123. In second place was the team of Dave Goodwin, Mark Yuill, Bob Laxaque and Dave Macdonald with a net score of 124.
Four skins were won by the following players: Don Judson with a net 2 on the fourth hole and a 3 on the fifth, Jim Oster with a net 2 on the ninth hole and Grant Mayfield with a net 2 on the 13th hole.
June 28: Friday Play Day
On Friday, June 28, players said they experienced “another perfect day for playing golf.” Twenty-three Graeagle Men’s Golf Association players competed as two-man teams in a game of Combined Par Points plus skins. In this format, a net score of double bogey is minus two points, a bogey is zero, a net par is one point, a net birdie is three points and a net eagle is five points.
First place was won by Paul Senft and Mike Simpson with a combined par point total of 63. Second place was won by Jim Oster and Steve Harding with a combined score of 54, and third place was won by Dan Anderson and Bob Laxaque with a net score of 53.
There were five skins awarded to the following players: John Mitchell with a net 1 on the third hole, John Jackson with a net 1 on the eighth hole, Steve Harding with a net 2 on the 10th hole, Mike Simpson with a net 2 on the 17th hole and Norm Miller with a net 3 on the 18th hole.
