The California Department of Transportation District 2 and Dig It Construction announce they are preparing to begin work on the Deer Creek Overlay Project on State Route 32 in Tehama County. The $1.86 million project will replace asphalt surfacing with areas of digouts and provide a thin hot mix asphalt overlay on SR 32 approximately 33 miles east of Forest Ranch, from 0.5 mile west of Slate Creek Bridge to the junction with State Route 36. The project will also include shoulder backing, upgrading guardrail to meet current standards, removal and replacement of thermoplastic markings and striping, and pavement mill and fill at bridge approaches.
This will impact Plumas County residents and visitors using Highway 32 for access to and from the northern part of the county.

Construction activities are currently planned to start Monday, July 8. Motorists will encounter one-way traffic control with up to 15-minute delays Monday through Friday during daytime hours. Motorists are urged to slow down and drive carefully in and around construction areas, follow speed limit reductions in place, and allot extra time for delays. The project is currently anticipated to be completed by the end of August.
Construction projects are subject to changes without prior notice.
