Music in the Plaza features Lithium Gin

Plumas Arts announces the second concert in its summer music series, Music in the Plaza, on Thursday, July 11, from 5:30 to 7 p.m. in Quincy’s Dame Shirley Plaza.

The event features cover band Lithium Gin. This duo, featuring Kaitlyn Rangel on vocals and Josh Marler on guitar, started by playing for the first time at a friend’s celebration of life but through the process found they enjoyed performing.

Covering songs with folk, punk and bluegrass vibes, the group has continued to expand on songs that lend themselves to their minimalist ensemble approach.

Through the pandemic, Lithium Gin performed at small gatherings in backyards and in homes. Since things have opened up, they have played at public events like Sparkle and the Full Moon Skis at Johnsville.

“Bringing a variety of local music to community is an extremely important aspect of the Plumas Arts’ mission as an organization,” said Christopher Rouse, Plumas Arts’ executive director. “Bringing a local group to the stage that provided so much community support through the pandemic feels really special.”

Music in the Plaza is a free community concert open to all ages. Quincy’s own La Cabaña will be selling food. Everyone is invited to bring their friends, family and lawn chairs. For more information, visit www.plumasarts.org or contact Plumas Arts directly at 530-283-3402.
