Faye Sandlin

March 26, 1930 – June 27, 2024

Faye Sandlin, 94, of Quincy, California, passed away on June 27, 2024. She will be greatly missed by all who love her.

Faye was born March 26, 1930, in Swain, Arkansas, the daughter of Jake and Jessie Collins. Faye married the love of her life, James Irven Sandlin, March 18, 1952, in Huntsville, Arkansas. Faye moved to Chester, California, with her husband in 1952 and was a Plumas County resident for 72 years. Faye and Irven lived in Chester, Twain, and Sloat, before settling in Quincy in 1975. Faye retired from the Polka Dot in 2001, after 25 years of service as “Fast Fry Faye.”

Faye was preceded in death by her husband, both parents, an older brother, Burlin Collins, her sisters Alda Hill, Olga Allene “Blondie” Johnson, and Irma Williams.

Faye is survived by her daughter, Janice Sandlin Eschenbaum and husband Bob of Quincy; son Darrell Sandlin of Quincy; granddaughter Lydia Sandlin of Davis, California; grandson Jake Sandlin and his wife Angela; six great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren of Quincy; grandson Daniel Eschenbaum and his wife Kristin; two great-grandchildren of Yuma, Arizona; one sister Donna Birchfield (Ronnie) of Bentonville, Arkansas; one brother Coy Collins (Katherine) of Pettigrew, Arkansas, and a host of many nieces, nephews, cousins, family, and friends.

Celebration of Life will be held at the Quincy Community Church in Quincy, California, on Saturday, July 13, 2024, from noon to 2 p.m. Pastor Ryan Nielsen will begin the service, followed by Pastor George Tarleton, with loving memories shared from family and any guests who wish to share.
