Quincy Chamber invites county fair parade entries

“It’s summertime in the Sierra, and we all know what that means,” says the Quincy Chamber of Commerce. “Enter the Plumas-Sierra County Fair Parade and join the fun!” The 77th annual Plumas-Sierra County Fair Parade is set for Saturday, July 27, at 10 a.m. in downtown Quincy.

The chamber reports that the parade is a wonderful opportunity to build memories with friends, family and neighbors. The theme this year is “Mountains of Memories.” “The community would love to see what this theme means to you,” say organizers. Throughout the years, the parade has featured fantastic floats, crazy clowns, prancing ponies and dancing divas, and each year some classic favorites return along with new entries.

Entry forms can be found online at http://www.quincychamber.com/parade, at Plumas Bank or at The Toy Store. Entry forms and hold harmless agreements, along with the $20 entry fee, are due before 5 p.m. Monday, July 22, to lock in participants’ commitment and help with planning purposes.

Cash prizes will be awarded for float, band and novelty, and ribbons will be given to all winners. Representation is encouraged from all towns and rural areas of Plumas and Sierra counties including Quincy, Chester, Portola, Greenville, Graeagle, Meadow Valley, Beckwourth, Cromberg, Loyalton, Sierra Brooks, Downieville, Calpine and more. Questions can be directed to the Quincy Chamber of Commerce at 530-394-0541 or [email protected].
