July 10: Wednesday Play Day
On Wednesday, July 10, a very warm and windless day, organizers report that 21 Graeagle Men’s Golf Association players competed in an individual low net format, plus skins.
First place was won by Bert Bellows with a net score of 56. Organizers report this is “16 under par WOW!!!” Second place was won by Don Judson with a net score of 69. Third place was a four-way tie among Dan Anderson, Paul Senft, Mike Quesenberry and Ron Eaton with net scores of 71.
Seven skins were won by the following players: Bert Bellows with a net 2 on the first hole and a net 2 on the ninth hole, Mike Quesenberry with a net 2 on the fourth hole and net 2 on the 13th hole, Jim Oster with a net 3 on the 11th hole, Tony Pehle with a net 2 on the 15th hole and John Grasso with a net 3 on the 17th hole.
July 11: Four-Gal Tournament
On Thursday, July 11, organizers report that 27 Graeagle Meadows Women’s Golf Club players braved the heat to participate in a Four-Gal, Two Best Net Balls Tournament. Par in this format is 144.
The team of Kris Sutton, Shelly Drake, Colleen Chase and (blind draw) Nancy Linch came in first with a team score of 126. The team of Ginger Holladay-Houston, Darlene Gibaut, Cheryl Brennan and Lois Childress came in second with a score of 127.
Colleen Chase made the only chip-in of the day.
July 12: Friday Play Day
On Friday, July 12, which organizers report was very hot and muggy, 18 Graeagle Men’s Golf Association players competed in a two-man format of both net balls on the front nine, combined with the single better ball on the back nine, plus skins.
First place was won by the team of Jim Oster and Bill Harrison with a team score of 101. In second place was the team of Mark Yuill and Dennis Flynn with a team score of 105. In third place was the team of Steve Harding and Chuck Frank with a team score of 106. Fourth place was won by the team of Nate Coats and Jeff Monaghan with a team score of 107.
Eight skins were won by the following players: Jeff Monaghan with a net 2 on the third hole, Nate Coats with a net 2 on the fourth hole, Jim Oster with a net 3 on the fifth hole, Steve Harding with a net 2 on the sixth hole, Steve Harding with a net 2 on the ninth hole, Dan Friedman with a net 2 on the 10th hole, Mike Winkel with a net 1 on the 12th hole and Steve Harding with a net 2 on the 14th hole.
