Marleen Robinson passed through the veil on July 18, 2024. The flamboyant, blue-eyed, raven-haired (later silver) beauty lived a colorful, creative life for 85-plus years. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend.
An artist in all ways, she painted, decorated, designed, and sewed clothes, quilts, and draperies. She upholstered and refinished furniture with flair, and she was a fabulous cook, specializing in Italian and Russian recipes. Marleen’s home and table were spectacular and sumptuous because of her ingenuity.
A skilled businesswoman, she took no prisoners and did not suffer fools gladly. Marleen loved music and could remember and sing her favorite songs by Fats Domino, the Ink Spots, and the Platters. Marleen loved polka dots, Pepsi, poppies, slot machines, cruises, and red glass. She was vivacious, fun, and adventurous.
She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Major J.O. Robinson, United States Marine Corps. Together they made many homes across the United States and settled in Cromberg, California, in 1975. Marleen is survived by her children: Dan, Robin, and Theresa; granddaughter Callie; sister Marsha; and many nieces, grandnieces, and nephews.
She loved talking and visiting with her family and her friends. Marleen was truly an original lady. She is deeply loved and will not be forgotten.
