The Quincy chapter of the National FFA Organization reports that local students participated in the 2024 Plumas-Sierra County Fair. Quincy FFA advisors Hannah Wrenn and Adam Wolosz said they are proud to have had students participating with livestock, small animal and ag mechanics projects.
Quincy FFA ag mechanics exhibitors received best of show for their barbecue project, in addition to placing very well with the rest of their projects, said Wrenn. In the livestock and small animals categories, Quincy FFA students earned the following awards:
- Reserve champion turkey
- Second place in FFA turkey showmanship
- First and second place in breeding poultry
- First place in poultry showmanship
- First place in FFA dog showmanship
- FFA small animal round robin champion
- Third place in market hog class
- Second and fourth place in FFA swine showmanship
“All of our students represented their chapter well, and showcased strong leadership skills throughout the fair,” said Wrenn. “Quincy FFA looks forward to next year’s fair!”

Quincy Junior-Senior High School students who want to be involved in this student-led leadership organization are invited to sign up for an ag science or ag mechanics class. “Fair is only a drop in the bucket,” said Wrenn. “The school year is full of contests and leadership opportunities!”
