UPDATE: On Oct. 21 the family of Thomas Lee Hiles sadly reported his passing.
The Susanville Police Department requests assistance from the public in locating a missing person. Thomas Lee Hiles was last seen July 19 leaving the Banner Lassen Medical Center area in Susanville. He was reported missing July 23.
Hiles is described as a 65-year-old white man with blond hair and blue eyes, 5 feet, 9 inches tall, 190 pounds, with an average build and light complexion. He was last seen wearing black sweatpants and a black shirt.
Hiles’ sister, Tammy Masters, reports that Hiles was on foot. His car is still parked where he was staying, and it has not moved. Masters said Hiles has been homeless and has depression and bipolar disorder.
Masters said that although Hiles was born and raised in Susanville, he was a long-term resident of the Greenville/Taylorsville area. His last known address is reported as Box 739/Highway 70 in Quincy.
