Wild and Scenic Film Festival returns to Quincy

The Wild and Scenic Film Festival On Tour is making a return to Quincy, report organizers, bringing with it a powerful lineup of environmental and adventure films. Scheduled for the historical Town Hall Theatre, this year’s festival promises an inspiring celebration of nature, activism and cinematic artistry.

Presented by Plumas Arts, the festival will be held Wednesday, Sept. 11, showcasing a collection of award-winning films that highlight the planet’s beauty and the urgent need for environmental conservation. This year’s selection features a diverse array of stories, from outdoor adventures to narratives that spotlight critical ecological  and social issues.

The Wild and Scenic Film Festival On Tour is known for its ability to captivate and motivate audiences through a blend of visuals and storytelling. Attendees can look forward to films that address a range of topics, from climate change and conservation to the joys of outdoor exploration. The festival’s programming is designed to spark conversations and inspire positive change.

Tickets are $15 and available for prepurchase by visiting https://www.plumasarts.org/wild-and-scenic-film-festival.html or by visiting the Plumas Arts Gallery, located at 525 Main St. in Quincy. Doors open at 6 p.m.; the film screening takes place at 6:30 p.m.

Beer from Quintopia and other concessions will be available for purchase. Plumas Arts will also be hosting a giveaway drawing to help raise monies to support its mission to bring cultural events and access to art for all ages to Plumas County. This year’s giveaway will include prizes from Yuba Expeditions, Lost Sierra Food Project, Wild Pines and more.

The Wild and Scenic Film Festival, produced by the South Yuba River Citizens League, is one of the nation’s premier environmental and adventure film festivals. It aims to inspire people to take action to protect the planet.
