The Feather River Land Trust, along with partners Northern Sierra Partnership and The Nature Conservancy, announces it has reopened the west entrance at the Sierra Valley Preserve. This entrance — along County Road A-23 in Beckwourth — was previously closed due to construction work to improve public access.
The majority of the work has now been completed, including improved parking areas, accessible walkways and structural supports for the historic Bulson House. There may still be some work underway at the west entrance; guests are requested to be mindful of construction
equipment.
The east entrance — along County Road A-24 in Beckwourth — is still closed. An accessible wildlife overlook is being installed, as are improved parking areas and trails.
The Nature Center at the Sierra Valley Preserve is still under construction and not yet open to the public, with exhibits and finishing touches being installed soon. The grand opening — previously planned for Sept. 8 — has been postponed until the remainder of the work is completed. Those who wish to be notified about the official grand opening date, as well as the east entrance reopening, can sign up at http://www.frlt.org/enews or check the FRLT website for updates.
